棕刚玉是以铝岩土、焦碳（无烟煤）、铁屑 为主要原料，在电弧炉内经高温熔炼结晶而成，它具有硬度高、韧性大、颗粒锋锐、磨削力强、耐高温、效率高等特点，是以优异的磨料磨具材料和高等耐火材料。用它制成的磨具，还用于磨削抗张强度较高的金属，可切割、磨削各种通用钢材、碳素钢、一般合金刚，可锻青钢、硬青钢等，也可以作为高等耐火材料，广泛用于钢铁、化工及其它行业。

Brown fused alumina is fused and crystalized under high temperature from a mixture of bauxite and other raw material. It is characterized by its high hardness ,good toughness and sharp shapein size. Abrasives tools made of it are suitable for grinding metals of high-tensile strength such as carbon steel, general-purpose alloy steel, annealed malleable iron and hard bronze; etc.It also can be used as refractory materials.
